Archaeological Report Writer & Reviewer

$75,000 to $125,000 per annum
Archaeological Consultants Canada is seeking an experienced archaeologist for the role of Report Writer & Reviewer. The successful candidate will provide technical reviews of archaeological reports as well as independently author Stage 1 to 4 Archaeological Assessment reports. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a detailed understanding of the Standards and Guidelines to ensure the successful delivery of timely and high-quality archaeological assessment reports.
In office, remote, or hybrid optional.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical reviews of reports and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Mentor junior staff and review deliverables to maintain quality and consistency.
- Coordinate and liaise with stakeholders and regulatory bodies as required.
- Author Stage 1 to 4 Archaeological Assessment reports.
Qualifications
- 5 + years of comparable experience to the role.
- Bachelors degree in Anthropology/Archaeology; Masters degree considered an asset.
- Valid Research class archaeological license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism; Professional license considered an asset.
- CAHP membership (professional) considered an asset but not a requirement.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario’s archaeological and heritage regulatory frameworks and demonstrated experience as a report author and senior reviewer.
- Experience using GIS software and creating digital map figures is considered an asset.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently, and collaboratively with the broader field and management team.
Compensation
- Annual salary of $75,000 to $125,000
