Archaeological Report Writer & Reviewer

Archaeological Consultants Canada is seeking an experienced archaeologist for the role of Report Writer & Reviewer. The successful candidate will provide technical reviews of archaeological reports as well as independently author Stage 1 to 4 Archaeological Assessment reports. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a detailed understanding of the Standards and Guidelines to ensure the successful delivery of timely and high-quality archaeological assessment reports.

In office, remote, or hybrid optional.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical reviews of reports and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior staff and review deliverables to maintain quality and consistency.
• Coordinate and liaise with stakeholders and regulatory bodies as required.
• Author Stage 1 to 4 Archaeological Assessment reports.

Qualifications

• 5 + years of comparable experience to the role.
• Bachelors degree in Anthropology/Archaeology; Masters degree considered an asset.
• Valid Research class archaeological license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism; Professional license considered an asset.
• CAHP membership (professional) considered an asset but not a requirement.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario’s archaeological and heritage regulatory frameworks and demonstrated experience as a report author and senior reviewer.
• Experience using GIS software and creating digital map figures is considered an asset.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently, and collaboratively with the broader field and management team.

Compensation

• Annual salary of $75,000 to $125,000
