Founded in 2020 as a merger of two prominent archaeological firms, ACC brings together an accomplished team with a proven client-first ethos. Our Team

Matthew V. Muttart, MA

Principal Archaeologist

Mr. Muttart is a practiced archaeologist with global experience managing development projects, including large-scale multi-year excavations in Olduvai Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mr. Muttart specializes in the management of land severances, subdivision block assessments, remote corridor surveys, and burial investigations. He holds a Master’s Degree in Biological Archaeology from Colorado State University and Professional Archaeology License P1208 issued by the Ontario Ministry of Heritage (MHSTCI).

Kristy O’Neal, MA

Associate Archaeologist

Ms. O’Neal is a tenured archaeologist with experience as both a consultant and Ministry Review Officer. Prior to joining ACC, Ms. O’Neal was the Principal Archaeologist of Mayer Heritage Consultants founded in 1992. Ms. O’Neal specializes in developing client-oriented avoidance and mitigation plans to preserve archaeological sites and development budgets. Ms. O’Neal holds a Master’s Degree in Bioarchaeology from the University of Western Ontario and Professional Archaeology License P066 issued by the Ontario Ministry of Heritage (MHSTCI). 

Michelle Volpe, MLIS

Operations Manager

Ms. Volpe has been practicing archaeology for 6 years and has a breadth of experience in all stages of archaeological assessment. Her experience spans from Southern Ontario agricultural fields to remote Northern Ontario boreal forest. She specializes in archival research aimed at limiting the burden of archaeological fieldwork and need for further assessment stages.  Ms. Volpe holds a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Alberta and Research License R1241 issued by the Ontario Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism, and Culture Industries (MHSTCI). 

Leah Peacock, BA

Project Manager

Ms. Peacock has been practicing archaeology professionally for the past 6 years within Southern Ontario and internationally. She has directed various archaeological sites, ranging from Woodland Villages to Euro-Canadian heritage properties. Ms. Peacock previously worked as an assistant archaeologist with the Canadian Government at the Ontario Heritage Trust in collections management, processing archaeological material and conducting laboratory research. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours from McMaster University in Anthropology and Research License R1273 issued by the Ontario Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries (MHSTCI).

Donny Vongphakdy, BA

Project Manager

Mr. Vongphakdy is a seasoned archaeologist and project manager with over 10 years of consulting and management experience. He has coordinated and managed archaeological projects across Canada, from block developments in Ontario to federal infrastructure surveys in Manitoba and remote British Columbia. He is also a member of the Heritage Kitchener Committee, is the Victoria Park heritage conservation district representative, and has a specialization in cultural heritage planning and impact assessments. Mr. Vongphakdy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology from Trent University and Project Management Training from GPM.
